Get 'Em Girls

"Grandma tell me a story?" Georgia begged. "Oh alright. And I think I know the best one." Rachel said thoiughtfully. "And this one's a tale of my own."

"I'd always been the odd one out. I had plenty of freckles, braces and aawful bright red hair. Then one year, I decided I wanted to change. So over the christmas break, I had my hair died blonde, I got contacts so as not to have to wear glasses. My freckles were taken care of with moisturise and plenty of cream. I had my friends and famiuly all start to call me Elle." Rachel was interrupted by Georgia. "Rachel E. Mathers." She realised. "Yes." Rachel agreed.

"When I returned to school the following summer, no one recognised me. So I lied, telling them I'd just moved to the Coast from Melbourne. In an isntant, I was the most popular girl in school. Everyone liked me. Before I knew it, schoolwork no longer mattered. I was out on the town with my two best friends every single Friday and Saturday night. Out partying, shopping, seeing a movie. Whatever it was I was out. A bit after all that, I got my first boyfriend. Nic."

"I regret it now though." Rachel sighed. "All of it. The thing is Georggia, never fall for the pretty girls dear. They'll turn you into someone so different you won't even recognise who you are anymore." "Will you promise me that darling?" Rachel looked down at her grandaughter, a slightly worried look in the corner of her eye. "I promise Grandma." Georgia promised. "I'll stay true to myself for as long as I live."
