Missing Him

There was once an elderly couple. Audrey and Kevin. They had owned a sweet little cafe just by Oceanview Beach in Colourvale for around 10 years. Audrey had always baked for the cafe. Pies, cakes, pastries. But when Kevin grew ill and passed away, Audrey no longer wanted to bake.

She sat in her favourite rocking chair in their home for days. "I baked for him." She would say. "He's gone now. I just can't do it." She'd argue, when people begged her to bake again.

A week after Kevin's passing, Audrey's youngest daughter Emily came to live with her, and help take care of her in her old age."Mum, you should bake while you still can." Emily pleaded. "No. Kevin's not here. I can't." She said.

The community pleaded with Audrey for ages, and it took a lot of convincing. But eventually, she aggreed and baked flat out at the cafe she had bought with Kevin until she grew too elderly.
